About Dr. M P Sharma

Dr. M P Sharma is presently the Head of the Dept. of Gastroenterology and Member Advisory Board of the Rockland Hospital,New Delhi. He has been a Professor and Head of Gastroenterology and Human Nutrition at All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), New Delhi.

He has been recognized for his contributions in Clinical Gastroenterology both nationally and internationally..His contribution has resulted in his being President of the Indian Society of Gastroenterology (ISG), President of the Indian Federation of Medical Ultrasound, President of the Geriatric Society, Executive Committee Member, Treasurer, Vice President of ISG , Dean of Indian College of Medical Ultrasound to name a few.

He is a Fellow of National Academy of Medical Sciences, American college of Gastroenterology, College of Physicians of India and International Medical Sciences Academy.

Widely published, he has received several awards and distinctions including Olympus Mitra Endoscopy Award, Boots Oration of the ISG, Pfizer Oration of Indian Society of Gastroenterology, Swastha Bharat Samman 2011 for achieving excellence in the field of medical services and for contribution to the public healthcare system of India in the field of Gastroenterology to name a few. . He was also awarded F.P. Antia Memorial Lifetime Achievement Award by the ISG in year 2018.
